About me

I was born 1974 in Skövde, Sweden, and lived in Gothenburg from 1994 until the fall of 2008, when I moved to New York. Since 2021 I'm back in Sweden, living in Örebro. My artistic background is mainly in painting and graphic arts, but I’ve gradually moved more towards photography. In the spring of 2008 I graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree from the School of Photography at Gothenburg University. I also work as a translator, mainly of fiction, but also some non-fiction.

My artwork has generally focused on borders and limits, areas where something gradually turns into something else. I’m fascinated with places or phenomena that give a sense of uncertainty or vagueness. This includes the spaces between physical places as well as less tangible borderlines, such as the space between life and death or differences in the way we perceive our world. I work in different media depending on the project at hand, from photography or painting to sculpture or installations, often mixing several media in the same project. Lately I've been getting into ceramics.
